If a week is a long time in politics, football or whichever pursuit you’d like to inject into the time-honoured saying, don’t ever let it be said that a week is a short period in golf – or golf courses.
NSW premier Chris Minns’ government was cautioned in 2024 that its controversial plan to scrap nine holes from Sydney’s Moore Park Golf Course could come with a big price tag given “significant capital investment” was required.
The proposal features three kilometres of running, walking and cycling paths, adventure and nature playgrounds, a footy field, skate park, BMX track, fitness trail and dog park with a reduced 18-hole public golf course and high-tech driving range.
