Off the tee Thomas used Titleist’s new TS3 driver, a club he put in play the first week it was on the USGA’s Conforming List of Driver Heads at the US Open at Shinnecock.

During a solid opening-round 69 on Thursday at TPC Sawgrass, Scott averaged 297.0 yards off the tee and hit 57.14 percent of his fairways. Not bad considering Scott currently ranks 120th on tour in driving accuracy.
In team golf, the short game usually plays a huge role in either establishing or keeping momentum and that held true for Billy Horschel and Scott Piercy in winning the Zurich Classic of New Orleans.
