Cleveland’s new RTZ 2 wedges pair updated ZipCore iQ technology with the return of company founder Roger Cleveland and his nearly 40-year-old 588 grind, offering more consistency and shot-making versatility across five sole options.
The Cleveland CBZ marks the fifth generation of the company’s cavity back wedges, and this newest model charts a fresh path forward in feel by employing the same Z-alloy found in the company’s tour-played RTZ line.
Like several other manufacturers, Cleveland Golf provides some useful guidance via its wedge selector tool, which has received some meaningful updates.
What makes today’s game-improvement wedges different is that we’re no longer talking about a one-trick pony club used primarily to escape the sand, but rather wedges that have a lot of the same grooves and soles as some of the tour-like wedges, but with a bit more forgiveness.

Cleveland’s follow up to its successful RTX ZipCore line features a larger ZipCore section (nearly twice the size) that allows weight to be removed and placed elsewhere to boost forgiveness, particularly in the high-low direction.
