What it does: Some golfers can generate their own speed. Others need help from their clubs. These irons are for those people. To maximise speed, a titanium face plate that is just 2.1 millimetres at its thinnest creates a more flexible face. The irons also have progressive face thicknesses to help optimise the speed and launch of each iron. A lower centre of gravity in the long irons bolsters height, and a higher CG in the short irons promotes a controlled flight. However, the face is not the only area contributing to more rebound at impact. An L-shape internal groove etched deep in the interior of the iron’s stainless-steel body further enhances flex, especially for shots struck low on the face.

Why we like it: Instead of designing clubs that attempt to fit all players, these irons don’t compromise on ways to attack the needs of golfers with slower swing speeds, and they are much more than a jumpy face. Lightweight shafts with extra weighting in the butt end help get the hands in a better position at the top of the swing. A shorter hosel contributes to a lower centre of gravity, and the wide soles assist in getting more out of fatted shots than you should.

7-iron loft 28 degrees; pw loft 42 degrees

Reviewer profile

“The distance is good with a proper high flight. Feels like you can whip the club through the impact zone, and the landing angle is nice and steep.”
