Ryan Fox became the latest golfer to ace the famed 17th hole at TPC Sawgrass overnight. In the process, though, he did something no one has ever done in the 50-year history of the Players Championship.
Though the incontrovertible takeaway from the past two years in professional golf is that no one knows anything, at least for certain, we’ve spent much of this week at TPC Sawgrass gathering intel on the status of the deal.
On Sunday, the 17th hole at TPC Sawgrass is where fortunes are decided for the contenders at the Players Championship. On Wednesday, however, it’s also where their caddies hit their most important (read: only?) shot of the year.

Australia’s two Cams led the way on the PGA Tour and LIV Golf in a mixed bag for the Down Under gang. Cam Davis led the way during a disappointing campaign for the Australians at the Arnold Palmer Invitational at Bay Hill while Cam Smith lost in a playoff at LIV Golf Hong Kong.
Scheffler’s change to a TaylorMade Spider Tour putter at the start of the week was the topic of much discussion. His putter wasn’t the only thing working, however. He ranked first in strokes gained/off the tee for the week, second in greens in regulation and third in strokes gained/around the green.
