Wherever the PGA Tour’s season finale is held, it tends to produce moments steeped in drama and at least a little bit of weirdness. This year was no exception.
With eight birdies and two eagles – including a an unexpected 50-metre pitch-in for eagle at 17 and birdie at 18 – Hayden Springer shot a 12-under-par 59 on the par-71 course.
The decision was made to wait a day partially out of fairness to the competitors who are playing for their livelihoods in 2024 and partially because of the work needed to get the two host courses back into playing shape.
