Michael Brennan’s stunning win at the Bank of Utah Championship yesterday made him the most unlikely man to earn a PGA Tour card this year. It also led to a golf graphic-of-the-year candidate.
Michael Brennan won the Bank of Utah Championship in appallingly routine fashion, firing a final-round, five-under 66 to beat Rico Hoey by four shots, defying belief, if not decorum.
Playing in just his third PGA Tour event and on a sponsor invite to boot, Brennan displayed a maturity and quality of play consistent with someone who knew they were born to play the tour.
Matt McCarty will always have Black Desert Resort in his heart after claiming his maiden PGA Tour title there last year. Turns out, he also carries an actual piece of the place in his bag.
“Back in Black” was the theme song for the week in the inaugural Black Desert Championship, and the jagged stuff did not disappoint. It looked spectacular on television and gobbled up the hopes of many in the field when they plunged into it with wild shots.
