This story isn’t for you if you made it to TPC Sawgrass for this week’s Players Championship. But for the rest of you watching from home (aside from our tours editor, Evin Priest, that is most of us at Australian Golf Digest and Aussie fans), you’ll probably want to know how to watch and listen to the most star-studded event of this young PGA Tour season.
The 51st Players Championship is somehow already here, which means we’ll have Scottie Scheffler teeing off for a three-peat, the best of the best duking it out and a bundle of nerves every time a golfer reaches No. 17. The Pete Dye original will force some of the best golfers in the world to show their wares in front of the viewing public, and let’s make sure you know how to view every single shot from the opening round to (hopefully) a three-hole playoff on Sunday.
Golf Channel and NBC will showcase it all on TV in the US, with their coverage available to Australians on Fox Sports Australia and KAYO. But if you’re jonesing for some early golf content, ESPN+ will once again carry PGA Tour Live’s streaming coverage with multiple feeds offering more than 150 hours of golf. With a seemingly endless number of streams, you’ll be able to watch every single shot across the Players starting around 7:30 am every day (10.30pm that same day AEST).
Five Australians and one New Zealander are in the field this year at TPC Sawgrass.
After his maiden PGA Tour victory at last week’s Puerto Rico Open, youngster Karl Vilips snared a last-minute spot at Sawgrass alongside two former champions: Jason Day, fresh off a T8 at the Arnold Palmer Invitational, and Adam Scott.
Cam Davis and Min Woo Lee round out the Australian contingent as well as New Zealand’s Ryan Fox.
