Why we like it
TaylorMade’s pursuit of carbon-composite-faced drivers wasn’t about strands of carbon fibre somehow being hotter than titanium alloys. Rather it was about finding a better way to make a driver. This third iteration opens a door especially appealing to average golfers: more forgiveness. The variably thick carbon-composite face now weighs more than 40 percent less than a similar-sized titanium face. This saved weight is pushed to where it’s needed in the form of more moveable weight or deep perimeter weighting, including one model with the highest stability on off-centre hits in company history.

“The dark head is simple and classy. The compression feels cushioned yet still powerful. The ball jumps off the face with a tighter dispersion.”
