Cleveland

Launcher XL 2

Why we like it
In recent years, Cleveland drivers have focused on ways to make average golfers less average. This year’s models borrow some of the ideas from affiliated brand Srixon and its better-player focused designs. Cleveland then added the results of millions of computer simulations to find the right kind of flex in the face and the ideal weighting to help those who work for a living find more distance and fairways. Among the ideas are alternating flexible and rigid zones in the face, crown and sole to create more ball speed and a variable-thickness-face pattern that emphasises forgiveness.

Launcher XL 2

  • The large head size and face area emphasise forgiveness.
  • The variable-thickness face pattern saves weight that can be used to improve stability and is designed to boost distance on mis-hits.
  • Loft is adjustable between 9 and 12 degrees.

Reviewer profile

“Springy feel with an aluminium-bat sound. I can make aggressive swings without fear of missing the fairway.”
