Women's Golf Apparel: CallawayCallaway Mavrik Max W Iron

The Mavrik Max W irons feature a new Flash Face Cup with artificial intelligence. This technology creates a sophisticated face architecture for every loft, an engineering feat that’s never been seen in the golf industry. By implementing a different Flash Face architecture for each iron, Callaway has created a significant boost in ball speed and increased spin robustness off of every club in the set.

Ball speed is further enhanced by the company’s industry-leading 360 Face Cup that flexes and releases at impact on centre and off-centre hits. Together, they provide a breakthrough in clubface construction for long, consistent distance.

With a Tungsten Energy Core, Callaway has precisely positioned custom tungsten weights into each iron to optimise launch and trajectory. And they’ve included their proprietary urethane microspheres, a premium technology that creates unmatched feel and incredible speed. More than one million microspheres are strategically placed into each clubhead to absorb unwanted vibration while maximising COR. With this design, they can provide pure feel and consistent distance performance throughout the set.

And best of all, these irons feature a premium women’s performance package, with a configuration that provides specific weighting and loft progressions for increased forgiveness and distance. Along with stock lightweight UST Helium shafts and Lamkin grips, Callaway has introduced an incredible new women’s line that represents what maverick thinking is all about.

RRP: $179.99 per iron (standard steel) and $199.99 (graphite and pro steel).

Callaway Mavrik Max-W Hybrid

For the first time, Callaway has used artificial intelligence to create fully optimised hybrid faces in the Mavrik MAX-W Hybrid. Add the company’s proven Jailbreak and Face Cup technologies and the result is the most technologically advanced hybrid face they’ve ever designed. That’s why it’s easy to launch, and an absolute distance machine.

Each Mavrik MAX-W Hybrid is designed to offer easy launch, high flight, long carry and soft landing. And Callaway has provided a premium women’s components package to increase distance for your swing speed, with lightweight UST Helium shafts and premium Lamkin Sonar grips. This adds up to the ideal combination of speed, stability and centre of gravity placement to promote easy launch, long carry and soft landings – exactly how a hybrid is expected to perform.

RRP: $419.99.

Golf Goddess Apparel

You can get the edge on your opponents by the way you dress, says Bonnie Kohlhase, founder of Golf Goddess, one of Australia’s most popular boutique women’s golf apparel outlets.

Women's Golf Apparel: Golf Goddess“Intimidate them with how well put together you are and they will lose their focus,” she jokes. “Yes, comfort and fit is important… blah, blah, blah… we all know that. But let’s face it, you want to look fantastic, strut your stuff and be so full of confidence that your golf game will have to no option but to toe the line.”

That’s where Golf Goddess comes to the party. Conceived from a love of golf and fashion, Kohlhase felt traditional ladies and men’s golf wear was very similar and based mostly on block colours and repeatable patterns. She felt some disruption was needed… more specifically, some colour.

“Our range features unique, feminine designs in a spectrum of beautiful colours,” Kohlhase says. “The fabric in our pull-on skorts doesn’t flap in the breeze, are lightweight, breathable and all feature zipper collars. More importantly, our Golf Goddess outfits look great anywhere, on and off the golf course, and are so comfortable you won’t want to take them off.”

The company’s Speed Pocket allows for flexibility low on the face for high launch and added forgiveness. Kalea 3 irons have an undercut cavity back construction to lower the centre of gravity in the head and increase launch for a higher ball flight with extra distance. Available from 7-iron to SW, Kalea irons match the rest of the clubs in the bag for the ultimate golf set. Golf Ladies First: A one-stop women’s golf shop

Women's Golf Apparel: GOLF LADIES FIRSTWouldn’t it be great if you could be covered in golf from head to toe by a friendly, welcoming, family-based team? Now you can at Golf Ladies First. Based in Port Macquarie, New South Wales, Golf Ladies First is the brainchild of PGA professionals Gordon and Chantale McCallum. With more than 30 years’ experience in Scotland, Germany and Australia, they felt the need to give women in a male-dominated environment a friendly, comfortable atmosphere in which to involve themselves in golf and the pro shop.

“We wanted to give women golfers the opportunity to ask questions, discuss their thoughts and experiences from the golf course with a team willing to be involved and understanding their needs,” Chantale says.

The McCallums’ goals are to get more women playing golf on a regular basis, for women to enjoy golf on and around the golf course and to improve their game.

“Lastly, and most importantly, we want women to look outstanding and play impressive golf – looking and feeling great is the key to great golf,” Chantale adds.

Ping G Le2 Women’s Clubs

If Ping’s G Le2 collection of women’s clubs proves anything, it is this: contrary to what you might have seen on “The View” or read in books about men and women and Mars and Venus, all humans – at least when it comes to golf – are basically the same: they all want more distance. It’s just that getting women golfers in touch with their distance potential requires some different thinking.

Women's Golf Apparel: PING G LE2

That’s where the G Le2 clubs come in. The set includes a driver, fairway woods, hybrids and irons, and the entire group reflects the commitment to distance through a different understanding of how women players create swing speed and ball speed and how clubs can be manufactured to better line up with the speeds these golfers create.

The G Le2 driver, fairway woods and hybrids incorporate many of the technologies found in the G410 metalwood line. That includes the trademark but updated aerodynamic crown turbulators, which are softened and, like on the G410, have been nudged slightly back from the leading edge. There’s also the thin-walled body featuring the familiar veined crown and skirt construction that mimics a dragonfly’s wings and the eight-way adjustable hosel design.

Likewise, G Le2 irons borrow from the learnings of the G410 iron design, while focusing on an overall weight that is six grams lighter than the original G Le irons. Those design features include the variable thickness face design, as well as the undercut on the top rail to expand the most flexible region of the face.

Another way of making the G Le2 clubs more playable for slower swings is through loft. The range of fairway woods extends to a 30-degree 9-wood, while the hybrid lineup reaches to 34-degree 7-hybrid. These options are designed to work in concert with the iron set makeup, which now has eliminated the 5-iron and starts with the TK-degree 6-iron. The wedges feature machined grooves for better spin potential.

The G Le2 lineup also includes a selection of three putters, including the classic heel-toe Anser blade build on the proven Dale shape; the mid-mallet Shea and a full mallet Echo model.
