After a slow start to the Deutsche Bank Championship, Rory McIlroy has turned his game around, most notably with his putting, having gained more than four strokes in that category over the past two rounds.
McIlroy really turned it on during the third round on Sunday, firing six birdies and an eagle en route to a five-under 66 at TPC Boston in Norton, Mass.
His best shot of the day, though, came on the par-5 18th hole from 190 metres out. Going for the green in two, his shot caught the edge of the cup and zipped just inches past the hole, leaving McIlroy and the crowd in awe.

He immediately threw his hands on his head, hunched over in disbelief that the ball narrowly lipped out. He was forced to settle for eagle, as brutal as that sounds.
Through 54 holes now, McIlroy is well in contention at 9-under 204 and just three strokes back of the lead at the conclusion of his round.
