As LIV Golf gears up for its Saudi Arabia stop and the return to pro golf of Anthony Kim, a cool story has emerged out of the New Zealand Open in Queenstown.
LIV Golf is involved in an eight-figure legal dispute over allegations it copied its format from the Premier Golf League, according to a report from the Times.
Anthony Kim’s comeback doesn’t officially start until Friday’s first round of the LIV Golf Jeddah event, but he hit his first shot with the cameras rolling on Thursday. And, well, it didn’t go as well as he’d like.
Some on LIV Golf accepted what can only be estimated as generational wealth. Their omission from the OWGR is not a punishment, but the price of that payday.
For every LIV golfer who has called for a direct pathway from the league into the four men’s major championships, there seems to be an equal number willing to travel to the corners of the globe in search of major-championship golf.
