Farewell Jack Newton one of a kind

Genuine characters in golf are rare, and rarer still are characters with substance to match the panache. The death of Jack Newton in April meant the passing of a true legend of Australian golf.

Jack Newton passes away at age 72

Newton announced he was suffering from Alzheimer’s disease in late 2020 and his family says his passing was due to “health complications”.

Aussie legend Jack Newton honoured by Golf NSW

The honour recognises Jack’s outstanding contribution to the sport as one of the State’s best-ever players, as a commentator, course designer, and most importantly for his forty-year-plus commitment to junior golf through the Jack Newton Junior Golf Foundation.
