There was drama until the very end, but one of LIV Golf’s foundation players, Henrik Stenson, was relegated from the league at LIV Golf Indianapolis along with Anthony Kim.

Nearly every modern European Ryder Cup star cut his teeth at the European Amateur Team Championship, a 65-year-old event that has become an indispensable avenue to learn team matchplay.
It wasn’t quite a deja vu moment. But it was close. Exactly 12 months before, Henrik Stenson was standing in exactly the same spot talking to the same journalist about his final round in the Abu Dhabi HSBC Championship.
Stenson, along with 11 other players who have teed-up at least once on the Saudi-backed LIV Golf tour (a list that includes Lee Westwood, Ian Poulter, Patrick Reed, Bernd Wiesberger and Adrian Otaegui), appear on the entry list for the upcoming Abu Dhabi HSBC Championship.
Adelaide will welcome a bevy of international stars in April after LIV Golf announced a multi-year commitment to bring its events to Australia, beginning in 2023.
We know for certain that Henrik Stenson will not be the 2023 European Ryder Cup captain, a position he was stripped of after signing a deal with LIV Golf in July.
The move comes after Stenson was stripped of his Ryder Cup captaincy this summer when he broke his word regarding his involvement with the Saudi-backed circuit.
