Next week’s PGA Tour stop, the WM Phoenix Open, is often referred to as “The Greatest Show on Grass”. However, there will be a pretty entertaining show among a different set of golfers on the Monday of the tournament.
On Sunday, the 17th hole at TPC Sawgrass is where fortunes are decided for the contenders at the Players Championship. On Wednesday, however, it’s also where their caddies hit their most important (read: only?) shot of the year.
It’s the first caddie recovery zone organised this PGA Tour season, but is a perk that is growing increasingly common on tour – with more planned in the coming months.
