He’s still got it.

World Golf Hall of Famer Greg Norman, who touched down in Australia this week in preparation for the inaugural LIV Golf Adelaide tournament, wasted no time to remind people just how good he is/was at playing this game.

The 68-year-old LIV Golf commissioner, keen to knock out some jet lag, snuck in a round at Royal Melbourne Golf Club, where he is an honorary member. And to the surprise of absolutely nobody who remembers his 331 weeks as world No.1, the Shark still flushes it, apparently even with a set of rental sticks.

Video footage emerged on social media overnight showing Norman playing the iconic par-3 fifth hole on Royal Melbourne’s West course. This is a hole famous for its huge false front, destroying the rounds of some of the greatest players in the world over time. It wasn’t going to add Norman to its list of victims, not on this occasion, borrowed clubs or not.

Here it is from another angle:

That is some golf shot. And what about that swing. He’s lost nothing since he “unofficially” retired in 2009. Perhaps a comeback is on…

“I made a few birdies but just enjoyed showing my friend Royal Melbourne on his first trip to Australia,” Norman told Australian Golf Digest.

“I only managed to play nine holes before some bad weather set in.”

With form like this, all-Australian Ripper GC captain Cam Smith might have to seriously look at drafting the two-time Major winner into his line-up for Adelaide.
