Motocaddy’s smartest electric buggy combines remarkably intuitive remote control with a touchscreen GPS system that puts detailed course strategy right at your fingertips.
All golfers have regrets. All golfers would love a mulligan (or two!). One of mine became abundantly clear recently when I ditched the carry bag for a remote-controlled electric buggy. My biggest regret? I wish I’d done it sooner.
For years I brushed off the thought of using an electric buggy primarily because of the stigma attached to it. Electric buggies are for old people, seemed to be the consensus among my golf-playing fraternity. How wrong we all were (or how old I’ve become?).
It’s 2026, and there is something very satisfying about walking 18 holes without having to push a golf buggy or lug around a carry bag. The all-new Motocaddy M7 GPS REMOTE takes that idea a step further, putting control of the buggy and a remarkable amount of course information in the palm of your hand.
The remote control is the first thing you notice. The M7 GPS REMOTE responds quickly and precisely, making it surprisingly easy to send the buggy ahead, bring it back or position it exactly where you want it. After a few holes, it becomes second nature. Rather than constantly thinking about the technology, you simply get on with playing golf.
Then there is the GPS. Built into the buggy is a crystal clear 3.5-inch touchscreen displaying full hole mapping across more than 40,000 pre-loaded courses. Distances to the front, middle and back of the green are there at a glance, along with hazard information, but it is the ‘Dynamic Green View’ that really adds another layer to the experience. You can move the target position on the green, giving you a more useful number when planning an approach rather than relying on a generic green distance. What a world!
The latest GPS system also gives you plenty of freedom to set it up around the way you play. You can choose between 2D and 3D mapping, use 3D hole flyovers, zoom and pan around a hole in 2D, and switch between portrait and landscape views. Radial distance markers are another useful addition when you are trying to work out exactly what is in play.
There are plenty of thoughtful touches, too. Customisable shortcuts give quick access to the features you use most, while light and dark display modes make it easy to tailor the screen to your preference. Round, clock and lost ball timers are built in (they’ve thought of everything!), and Wi-Fi allows firmware and course updates to be delivered over the air.
The M7 GPS REMOTE can even keep you connected to the outside world. Bluetooth connectivity allows smartphone notifications to appear on the buggy’s touchscreen, including missed calls, texts, emails and selected app alerts. You can see what has come through without having to reach for your phone (incredibly handy on those courses that frown upon the use of handheld devices!). This wound up being particularly useful on the day of testing as I was in the middle of some important family correspondence.
For all the technology, though, the appeal of the M7 GPS REMOTE is remarkably simple. It makes walking golf easier. You walk between shots feeling like a tour pro – like someone else is doing all your leg and guesswork.
Motocaddy’s REMOTE buggies have already proved hugely popular with Aussie golfers, accounting for more than three quarters of the brand’s buggy sales since its direct launch in Australia last year. The new 2026 range builds on that success with three REMOTE models, with the M7 GPS REMOTE sitting at the top of the line. It is easy to see why. The combination of responsive remote navigation and sophisticated GPS changes the role of the electric buggy. It is no longer simply something that carries your clubs. It becomes part of the way you play the course.
For the golfer who enjoys walking but would rather leave the heavy lifting to technology, the M7 GPS REMOTE offers an impressively complete solution. For $2,299.99, you get the freedom of walking, the convenience of remote control and a wealth of information for making better decisions before you hit the next shot. The life of a tour pro – I could get used to this!
WHAT YOU’LL LOVE
Motocaddy’s exclusive CLICK ‘N’ CONNECT cable-free ULTRA Lithium battery technology features patented auto-disconnect functionality and a pop-up charging port. The really clever part? The battery can be transported and charged without having to remove it from the buggy, making one of the less glamorous parts of electric buggy ownership considerably easier.
