Brooks Koepka’s successful, two-Major season hasn’t been without some bumps in the road. The US Open and PGA champion missed the Masters with a wrist injury, which also caused Koepka to miss the first four months of the season. Though the details behind the wrist injury aren’t too known, what we now know is a method Koepka used to recover from his injury: a horse chiropractor.

No, you’re not alone if you didn’t know that a horse chiropractor was a thing until reading this headline. We did a double take after reading the comments from Koepka’s short-game coach, Pete Cowen, in an interview with The Telegraph.

A visit to a horse chiropractor was all it took to cure Koepka’s wrist, according to Cowen:

“He went to see a horse chiropractor – god knows where he found him,” Cowen told The Telegraph. [And the chiropractor] immediately said, ‘I know what’s wrong with that’ and after a bit of crunching, Brooks was fixed. He paid $50 and was in there half an hour.”

In a follow-up tweet from the Golf Channel’s Matt Adams, he claims that Koepka might’ve visited the doctor in Northern Ireland. That’s just from Adams, not confirmed from Koepka, so we’re not sure what to make of all this. We do know that Koepka’s caddie, Ricky Elliott, is from Northern Ireland – so maybe that’s the connection. Again, pure speculation on this intriguing topic.

Why is a horse chiropractor different than a human chiropractor? Why do horses need chiropractors? We have a lot of questions. This might’ve created more questions, rather than answering much, about Koepka’s recovery. But at the very least, golfers now know that horse chiropractors are a thing. Which might benefit the horse chiropractic field more than anybody . . .
