With a two-shot lead entering Sunday’s final round of the Hilton Grand Vacations Tournament of Champions, Lydia Ko has the potential to wipe away a disappointing 2023 season just one start into 2024.
Ko, 26, could only muster two top-10 finishes in 20 LPGA tournaments, failing to qualify for the season-ending CME Group Tour Championship for first time in her LPGA career. But a victory alongside Jason Day in the Grant Thornton Invitational in December allowed her to end the year with a positive. And she has carried that on this week at Lake Nona Golf and Country Club in Orlando, Ko’s home course in the U.S., with rounds of 69-67-68 to get to 12 under par, two shots clear of Alexa Pano and four ahead of Ally Ewing.
Should Ko win, it would be her 20th career LPGA title, making her just the 15th player in the tour’s history to crack that milestone. She would also claim the $225,000 first-place prize money payout from the overall purse of $2.5 million. That would push Ko past the $17 million in career earnings, making her just the fifth player to achieve that milestone.
She would also claim an additional LPGA Hall of Fame point, leaving her one shy of the 27 points needed to earn qualification and become the 35th member.
Here’s the prize money payouts for each golfer competing this week at Lake Nona. Come back shortly after the tournament ends and we’ll update the listing with player names and paydays.
