English cricketer James Anderson cops golf ball to the head

There’s an old saying that you should stick with what you’re good at.

For English cricket star James Anderson, 544 Test wickets at an average of 27.19 would indicate that choice should be charging in off the long run with a Duke cricket ball.

But the man widely regarded as the best swing bowler on the planet won’t ever be regarded for swinging a golf club, not if this footage is anything to go by.

While playing a social round with fellow Test star (and apparent cameraman) Stuart Broad, Anderson somehow ricocheted an iron shot off a tree root straight back into his face.

Broad later confirmed no English cricketer had been harmed in the making of this video but it looks pretty serious:
