How will you be remembered by your golf buddies when you die?
It’s probably not a question you think about often, but, sadly, it’s an inevitable reality. And something that others will hear about as well if you’re a prominent figure—and one of those golf buddies happens to be the President of the United States.
Such is the case for Lindsey Graham, who passed suddenly over the weekend. Best known as a U.S. Senator, the South Carolinian was also a frequent playing partner of Donald Trump.

So it shouldn’t be too surprising that when President Trump went on Fox News on Monday to discuss the deceased Senator he wound up talking about Lindsey Graham the golfer. And he wasn’t exactly flattering. At least, about Graham’s golf game.
“It wasn’t that he was a great striker of the ball,” Trump tells Fox News. “He wasn’t Jack Nicklaus, he was not Tiger, but he was, he loved it, and he got, he had fun. You know, he’s a man who had a lot of fun.”
That’s an all-time golf jab right there. But at least he didn’t say Graham had “really low clubhead speed” like he said about Mark Cuban a couple years ago. Talk about a dagger.
And the President did offer some very flattering words about being in Graham’s company on the golf course. Here’s the clip:

“And he was a nice man, he was a great guy, he loved playing golf, loved being outside,” Trump says. “He played golf with people and, you just liked him.”
And for most golfers, that’s about the nicest thing you can say.
