1 - Royal Melbourne (West)

1. Royal Melbourne (West)    No change

Averaging close to 46 points out of 50, and a full two points clear of its nearest competitor, the West Course at Royal Melbourne is once again Australia’s undisputed No.1. As evidence of its supremacy, more than 85 per cent of judges who played the Alister MacKenzie masterpiece rated it the best course in the country. “Golf at its finest,” says Top 100 judge Grant Naylor. “Peerless, still,” adds fellow panel member Phil Heads. It will be interesting to see whether the gap between No.1 and the rest narrows in 2018, as Cape Wickham matures and Kingston Heath reaps the benefits of hosting the 2016 World Cup.
