Not everyone is a fan of the 147-metre, par-3 finishing hole at the Greenbrier Classic, but one who will certainly be in favour of it going forward is Xander Schauffele. Schauffele knocked a pitching wedge to three feet on the final hole and made the ensuing putt to provide the cushion he needed for his first US PGA Tour win.
Schauffele’s irons are TaylorMade’s new P750 model – a club with a thinner topline and less offset than the P770. Schauffele used those clubs to hit 16 of 18 greens this morning, Australian time, and to hit 59 of 72 (81.9 percent) for the event. He also used a trio of Titleist Vokey SM6 wedges with a raw finish with each bent one degree weak. Schauffele used 8 degrees of bounce in his 53 and 61-degree models and 10 degrees bounce in his 57-degree wedge.
