Ham will make his debut in The Open after winning the Singapore Open by two shots with a 16-under-par total of 268. John, who will also make his debut at Royal Birkdale, earned his spot after finishing second at 14-under-par.
The Singapore Open is part of the Open Qualifying Series that grants high finishers a path directly into golf’s oldest championship. Victoria’s John, who won three times during the PGA Tour of Australasia season just completed, joins fellow Australians Adam Scott (Australian Open) and Lucas Herbert (New Zealand Open) to qualify this way.
Already exempt into this year’s Open Championship are Cameron Smith (former champion), Travis Smyth (PGA Tour of Australasia Order of Merit winner) and Elvis Smylie (top-25 on the 2025 Race to Dubai, DP World Tour).
