The return of Webex Players Series events in Victoria and Sydney and the addition of a third TPS tournament in the Hunter Valley has provided a timely boost to the 2021-2022 PGA Tour of Australasia summer of golf.
TPS Hunter Valley joins TPS Victoria and TPS Sydney as part of the Webex Players Series, which is a feature of the ISPS Handa PGA Tour of Australasia and WPGA Tour of Australasia schedules.
The recently re-designed Nudgee Golf Club will appear on the ISPS Handa PGA Tour of Australasia schedule for the first time in the club’s history as the new home of the Queensland PGA Championship.
The NT PGA will now take place from September 16-19 provided that the majority of professionals have the opportunity to travel to the Northern Territory to compete.
The innovative format will see 132 players tee it up on the Thursday with the top 50 and ties to make the 36-hole cut. After 54 holes, the top 24 will advance to the final round of matchplay on the Sunday.
As was the format earlier this year, the Legends course will host the first two rounds of the championship with the Peter Thomson-designed Open course – host to the 2003 and 2005 Australian Opens – to determine the champion over the final two rounds.
