Welcome to Wolston, a new beginning for women in golf
Earlier this year, Wolston Park launched its exciting new women’s initiative, “Welcome to Wolston”, a program specifically designed to introduce women to golf in a relaxed, social and supportive environment.
The response has been nothing short of extraordinary. Since launching on April 1, more than 55 women have already joined the program, proving there is enormous demand for beginner-friendly pathways into golf.
Led by PGA professional Andrew Egea and his experienced team, participants are guided through beginner clinics, social “Meet & Greet” events and ongoing support groups that help build confidence both on and off the course.
Most importantly, the initiative removes the intimidation factor many women often feel when starting golf for the first time.
There is no pressure to play competition golf and no expectation to immediately obtain a handicap. Just an opportunity to enjoy the game, meet new people and become part of a welcoming golf community.
Current women members have embraced the initiative wholeheartedly, mentoring and supporting new participants every step of the way.
As clubs across Australia continue searching for ways to grow female participation, Wolston Park Golf Club is already showing what success looks like.
More than just golf
Beyond the fairways, Wolston Park continues to evolve as a complete lifestyle and events destination.
The club’s Riverside Ballroom overlooks the Brisbane River and provides the perfect setting for weddings, corporate golf days, seminars, celebrations and private events.
Golfers can also take advantage of the club’s modern golf improvement centre featuring a Trackman simulator, allowing players to practise, analyse their swing or simply enjoy a social round indoors with friends.
Meanwhile, the popular Golden Roo Challenge continues, attracting competitive golfers from across Brisbane’s western suburbs, adding another layer of excitement to the club’s thriving golf calendar.
