Tiger Woods was in the stands March 1 when his daughter Sam helped her school win a Florida state soccer title.
Sam Woods is a senior at The Benjamin School in Palm Beach. The Buccaneers topped Episcopal School, 1-0, in the Florida High School Athletic Association’s Class 2A final in Deland. Emma Bartoli scored the only goal.
It was the school’s first girls’ state title.
The championship match was at Spec Martin Stadium. Proud dad Tiger was in attendance celebrating with fellow parents, just as he was for the semifinal victory earlier in the week. Woods was wearing a black state championship shirt.
Tiger Woods next start on the PGA Tour is still in question. He is not in the field for next week’s Arnold Palmer Invitational, where he has won eight times. He withdrew from the Genesis Invitational a two weeks ago following the death of his mother Kultida. Woods also did not play on his Jupiter TGL team on Feb. 25. He is, however, scheduled to play Tuesday when Jupiter plays against Atlanta Drive, looking for a spot in the playoffs.
