In the days following each Masters, golf fans are collectively thrilled by the new and exciting exploits of the green jacket. From Krispy Kreme drive-thrus to the Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon, we hang on every rustle of sports’ most famous sport coat.

It’s not the only inanimate object to enjoy an Augusta National rumspringa each April, however. After every Masters (and, in fact, after every Major), the 18th-green flagstick is also presented to the winners as a token of appreciation. Its movements are not followed with nearly the same gusto as its garment brethren’s, but thanks to the celebrations of caddie Ted Scott following Sunday’s Masters triumph, that could soon change.

The best part of all this is that it’s not Scott’s first or even second fling with the Masters flagstick. He’s enjoyed its company on three separate occasions over the years, and he’s still cherishing each and every moment like it’s the first time. You love to see it. Bubba Watson on the other hand … maybe not so much.
