One can only imagine what was going through the heads of Russell and Susan Fitzpatrick as they watched their sons win a PGA Tour event on Sunday. All the pride. All the love. All the emotions. It was surely a moment they’ll never forget.
But in the midst of it all, Mr. Fitzpatrick found the opportunity to deliver a delightful little dig at Alex. Because dads gotta dad.

You may have missed this one in the aftermath of Matt and Alex’s one-shot win at the Zurich Classic. The duo won in dramatic fashion after Matt’s brilliant bunker shot set up the winning tap-in birdie by Alex.

And that’s where Mr. Fitzpatrick came in. As he greeted his boys off the 18th green, he couldn’t resist this playful dagger: “Great putt on the last, Al.” Nailed it. Have a look and listen:
“Great putt on the last, Al.”
“I thought I was going to miss it!”

“I thought I was going to miss it!” Alex replied. And, considering how much was on the line—in particular, for him—we understand.
Anyway, we’re glad he was able to convert that putt. And we’re glad they can (dad) joke about it now.
