Brad Clifton from Australian Golf Digest sits down with PXG tour player and brand representative Rus Kirchner to break down PXG’s latest Lightning fairway woods and updated hybrid range, explaining how the new designs deliver more distance, forgiveness and customisation for a wide range of golfers. Central to the new lineup is PXG’s thinnest fairway wood face to date, which allows weight to be redistributed lower and deeper in the head, increasing moment of inertia and helping golfers launch the ball higher with more ball speed across the face.
The Lightning range is offered in two distinct models: a Tour version, designed for faster swing speeds with a slimmer profile and two adjustable weights to control trajectory and spin, and the Standard Lightning model, which features a broader loft range and three adjustable weights for shot shaping and versatility. PXG’s updated hybrids complement the fairway woods with improved turf interaction, lower face weighting and lofts ranging from 17 to 34 degrees, making them an ideal option for golfers looking to replace long irons or improve consistency from difficult lies. As with all modern equipment, fitting is strongly recommended to ensure each club is optimised for performance.
