Jordan Spieth has already made a number of long, highlight-reel putts in his five years on the US PGA Tour, none more impressive than his bounce back eagle on Royal Birkdale’s 15th hole during the final round of the British Open. Like the Birkdale bomb, some have been more clutch than others, but none have been as long as the one he made Saturday (AEST) at the Sony Open in Hawaii.
On the par-4 fifth hole at Waialae Country Club, Spieth faced a 91-footer for birdie to get to one-under on his round, and according to Golf Channel analyst Jim “Bones” Mackay, it broke “at least three times”. Not a problem for the three-time Major champion:

Off the back board and with authority. The man has never met a putt he didn’t think he could make. It’s the longest of his career per PGA Tour media, besting a 52-footer he made at the Valspar Championship in 2016. Not bad, some might say.
He’ll need a few more to fall to safely stay inside the cut line in Honolulu, as he continues to battle back from that dreaded quadruple bogey he made on his 17th hole on Thursday.
