Lost among the headlines detailing the legal battle between several LIV Golf players’ and the DP World Tour over bans and fines was a gesture that would be popular at any golf event around the world.

While the Saudi-backed rival tour has been heavily criticised, most fans were stoked when LIV Golf’s chief executive Greg Norman hurled cans of Heineken into the crowd at the LIV Golf event in Portland Oregon over the weekend.

Norman’s son, Greg Norman Jr, took to Twitter to share a video of the commotion which happened at the conclusion of the first of the rebel series’ five events in the US.

“Still reflecting on how fcking cool this was… thousands of people came to together to have fun, share their passion for the game of golf, laugh, and shotgun beers tossed out by the commissioner/ceo,” Norman Jr wrote.
