Golf course superintendents, look away. You may find the following video disturbing. Viewer discretion is advised.
On Sunday at the FedEx St Jude Championship, top-50 bubble boy Tom Kim was making quite a run, going four-under for his first 15 holes without making a bogey. A spot in next week’s BMW Championship was well within his reach.
Kim then promptly imploded, finishing bogey, double-bogey, double-bogey, a.k.a. the dreaded 6-6-6. But it was back at the 12th hole where his frustrations began to boil over, Kim missing a six-footer for birdie and settling for a tap-in par. Before the tap-in, though, the 22-year-old slammed down a spot on the green that he felt affected his birdie effort. Kim wound up making a dent in the green and, apparently, walked off without repairing the dent:
😲 Thoughts on this?

The video cuts off early, but it does appear that Kim scoops his ball out of the hole and walks off, which is a very tough look.
Golf Twitter, as expected, did not hold back:
Young Tom Kim continues to disappoint with dismal behavior and abhorrent pace of play. Bad!

Tom Kim should be ashamed of himself.

Do that and you’re done. Go home.

According to a few eagle-eyed observers, Kim’s caddie, Paul Tesori, wound up fixing the indent. Not the best optics, regardless.
Kim’s late-round troubles are looking to be very costly, too.
