Price/Availability: The Tour Soft is offered in white and yellow at a cost of $59.95 per dozen ($NZ$69.95). Velocity is offered in white, green and orange at $49.95 per dozen ($NZ59.95). Both will be available in Australian and New Zealand golf shops from Saturday, February 7 2026.

3 Cool Things

1. A whole new ball game

Redesigned from core to cover, Tour Soft boasts a proprietary cover formulation and new aerodynamics package to improve tee-to-green while maintaining the ball’s soft feel throughout the bag.

Helping achieve that is a new core dimension and elastomer cover blend that work together to reduce spin and maximise yardage in the long game while increasing peak height with the mid-irons for a steeper angle of descent and more stopping power into the green.

The reformulated cover is softer and thicker while slightly decreasing its core dimension to generate lower spin in the long game without sacrificing feel. This combination also produces higher launch on iron shots, helping players hold more greens through trajectory.

“Tour Soft is the hidden gem in our lineup, providing total performance tee to green,” said Frederick Waddell, Titleist’s director of golf all product management. “In our testing, Tour Soft consistently outperforms golf balls at higher prices and/or with more layers of construction. This ball is a gamer.”

2. Dimples that deliver

A new 386 quadrilateral dipyramid dimple pattern, specifically engineered for Tour Soft, is designed to deliver a more consistent ball flight.

“Aerodynamic development in general is a meticulous process,” said Mike Madson, senior VP of golf ball R&D. “It has to be – there’s no easy button that we can press to figure out what the next best pattern is going to be. It’s all about designing as much as you possibly can, picking the options that show promise in our models, and then testing, testing, and more testing. We are constantly machining new [dimple] cavities, manufacturing prototypes, and testing them both in a controlled environment as well as outdoors with our robots. That is the only way to find the best, most efficient patterns for each individual golf ball model.”

The new Velocity features a faster cover and softer core formulation that work together to reduce spin in the long game and deliver increased distance.

To drive down spin in the long game, Titleist engineers started by reducing the overall compression of Velocity through a softer core formulation. A firmer ionomer cover formulation further lowered spin while adding ball speed, translating to even more distance.

“Whenever you make compression go down, all things equal, that’s going to bring spin down in the long game,” said Madson. “We coupled that with a slightly firmer ionomer cover to add speed and further decrease spin in the long game. So, you get that double shot of lower spin off the tee along with a faster cover, all contributing to more distance.”
