You can count on one hand how many sequels are better than their originals. A few that jump to mind – Spider-Man 2, The Dark Knight, The Godfather II. All of these lived up to the impossible task of being equally-as-good-if-not-better than the one that came before them.

You can add the Norwegian broadcast of Viktor Hovland’s winning putt, Part Two, to the “sequels better than the original” list. If you’re unsure of what we’re talking about, you may have forgotten about the absolutely electric call of Hovland’s first victory last February in Puerto Rico. A quick refresher:

Remember fans? Yeah, us neither. But wow, what a call (the translation can be found at the bottom of this post). Despite the Puerto Rico Open curse, we all knew the 23-year-old from Norway would win again soon. Would these guys be on the call again? Could they possibly be as electric as the first?

The answer turned out to be an unequivocal YES when Hovland yet again dropped a birdie putt on the 72nd hole on Sunday to win the Mayakoba Golf Classic. Here is part two, with translated captions, in all its Norwegian glory:

Unbelievable stuff. “Look at how ice cold he is!” “What a star.” These guys really have a sense for the moment. The funny thing is, Hovland said afterwards that he’s very uncomfortable in those situations. He’s got us all fooled. Our boy is ice cold! What a star, indeed. Lucky for us, there are many more wins to come in Hovland’s career, which means many more of these Norwegian calls.
