Straight-shooting talkback radio host Ray Hadley has delivered a serious warning to Sydney golfers breaking Local Government Area restrictions in order to hit the fairways.

Just 24 hours before New South Wales recorded a daily record 825 new cases of COVID-19, with at least 58 of those active in the community, Hadley revealed on 2GB’s Ray Hadley Morning Show that members of two golf clubs in the Greater Sydney area had been fined after exploiting a loophole in the Public Health Order.

“Two clubs, one in the east and one in the north-west, have had members fined thousands of dollars after changing their addresses to relatives’ so they could play golf and defy the health rules,” Hadley reported.

“I would imagine, knowing the clubs involved, they will take a very dim view of members lying.”

After chatting with NSW Police, Hadley confirmed authorities are now examining Services NSW databases to verify the legitimacy of any address changes which saw Sydneysiders ‘move’ out of a hotspot LGA.

Listen to Hadley’s warning here:

“If you have usurped the system and you think you’re getting away with it, well the coppers are going to come knocking on your door,” Hadley says.

“If you are pulling a rort, be on notice.”
