The spectacle that was the Tiger Woods-Phil Mickelson match is now in the books, and it was … well, it was something. It managed to live up to the hype while manifesting some of the biggest fears into reality.

There were numerous awkward moments, yet moments that were genuinely entertaining. American fans were locked out of their pay-per-view purchases, and others got to watch it for free. And Tiger and Phil … well, to paraphrase the immortal Dennis Green, Tiger and Phil “were who we thought they were.”

But what did Mickelson use to get one over his arch-rival? According to Callaway tour reps, Mickelson immediately liked the driver when he first started testing it late last year. In particular, he told reps that the combination of launch and spin is perfect for what he is looking for, and it has more forgiveness that he can take advantage of in tournament rounds.

Rogue employs enhanced Jailbreak Technology with new, hourglass-shaped titanium bars that are 25 percent lighter, while fulfilling their function of stiffing the crown and sole. The stiffer body allows the face to take on more impact load for faster ball speed. AND it makes it possible for Callaway to engineer its new X-Face VFT face architecture, which also promotes faster ball speed across an expansive area of the face.

Tour Reps have said that Lefty really likes his Rogue Sub Zero fairway wood. He likes how it launches up easy off the deck but also is low spin off the tee, which makes it good for distance. Rogue fairway woods are the first fairway woods ever to incorporate Jailbreak technology, which was first introduced last year in the GBB Epic driver – the No.1 selling driver in the US in 2017.

On the Shadow Creek greens Mickelson used a new Odyssey Prototype putter and shaft that are designed to help improve the consistency of the putting stroke.
