Peter Malnati, a member of the PGA Tour Policy Board, went on to say that the tour doesn’t need to “resort to gimmicks” and that he was surprised by the move. Immediately, though, Malnati corrected himself.
The 28-year-old will be the seventh woman to play in a PGA Tour event dating back to Babe Didrikson Zaharias, who made the cut at the 1945 Los Angeles Open. Brittany Lincicome was the last to do it at the 2018 Barbasol Championship.
