Situated on the northern end of the Gold Coast, Sanctuary Cove Golf and Country Club is Australia’s leading resort-style master planned community located an hour from Brisbane Airport or 45 minutes from Gold Coast Airport, with both being an easy drive on the highway. The Golf and Country Club boasts one of the only 36-hole golf facilities in South-East Queensland harbouring Australia’s only Arnold Palmer designed golf course – The Pines Golf Course, renowned as the Members’ pride and joy.

The Palms Golf Course is Sanctuary Cove Golf and Country Club’s second spectacular 18-hole golf course, which underwent a major reconstruction in 2010 and was redesigned by renowned golf course architect Ross Watson. This course, which is open to the public, offers a uniquely challenging layout, embedded within a tropical landscape of century-old cabbage palms and paperbark trees, and surrounded by Sanctuary Cove’s residential estate. Gently undulating fairways require accurate shot-making from uneven lies, while numerous bunkers and pristine lakes demand calculated shot-planning. The strategic and innovative bunkering makes scoring from 100 metres out particularly challenging. Sand is held up the face of these visually spectacular bunkers, accentuating the course’s magnificently manicured and creatively demanding greens. This distinctive layout reinforces the need for precise approaches while presenting a variety of play options.

It comes as no surprise that this Ross Watson designed jewel is in the top 100 list of public golf courses in Australia. His designs ensure every hole offers visually astonishing layouts that keep each shot interesting and reward smart play. Watson, a distinguished and highly respected golf course architect, was also responsible for the redesign of Royal Sydney Golf Club and has created many other masterpieces such as Magenta Shores and Kooindah Waters, to name a few.

The Palms Golf Course boasts many standout holes, such as a par-5 with water and clever bunkering, which instantly places pressure on the golfer to keep the ball in play. The par-3 holes undoubtedly attract critical acclaim and require excellent shot-making skills. Finally, the 17th and 18th are spectacular finishing holes, leaving golfers with an astounding lasting impression of one of Australia’s finest courses.

After your round, enjoy drinks and a meal in The Country Club’s The Grille Room, overlooking The Palms’ 18th green from the terrace. To make a day of your Sanctuary Cove experience, take a stroll to The Marine Village where you can explore boutique shops and take in the serenity of the relaxing waterside surrounds.

Sanctuary Cove Golf and Country Club welcomes casual golfers and visitors, and offers a number of open golf competitions for those seeking a little added pressure. The private club is also allowing leisure round access to members with an official club handicap.
