There was a time not that long ago when Bryson DeChambeau was eating four eggs, five pieces of bacon, toast and two Orgain protein shakes. And that was just breakfast. Add in another four protein shakes throughout the course of the day, plenty of snacks and a full-on steak and potatoes dinner, and it’s no wonder he was able to get his weight up to 240 pounds at the peak of his bulky Bryson era.

But now DeChambeau is much leaner and meaner, by design, as all things are with the Mad Scientist. The bulk-up experiment ran its course, and DeChambeau hasn’t exactly sacrificed any distance on the golf course since getting his weight back down. More importantly, he feels—and seems—as healthy as he’s ever been.

Of course, the man still needs plenty of snacks, he just makes sure they are very healthy ones. YouTuber Robby Berger, the leader of the “BobDoesSports” pack, found this out the hard way during DeChambeau’s latest episode of “Breaking 50” on his personal YouTube channel. While the key highlight was the group nearly breaking 50 on the final hole, the best bit of content from the full video came when DeChambeau broke out his giant ziploc bag of snacks he deploys during rounds. For Berger, a guy who has made a name for himself not only for his golf videos but for his (mostly unhealthy) food content on Instagram, the snacks—coconut strips, natural fruit bars, etc.—were not well-received:

First off, you gotta love Berger’s initial excitement at the bag of snacks. The man has never been afraid to try, and review, new food items. “Yeah, I do it all,” Berger says before popping in a coconut strip. Following that up with “where do you get that?” indicates he had nothing else nice to say about it.

But he could only be polite for so long. The apple strawberry fruit bar and the meat stick (?) were a step too far. Much like the rest of us would, he went right back to his hot dog. DeChambeau’s new diet ain’t for everyone.
