You don’t want to miss in the wrong spot at the Ocean Course at Kiawah. We’ve seen pros in trouble early on Thursday – with impossible lies in the thick heather around this seaside Pete Dye faux-links layout.

Viktor Hovland has done a nice job avoiding the thick stuff so far. Mostly. He narrowly avoided a bunker at the fourth hole but barely had a stance. That led to a intriguing exchange with his caddie Shay Knight as they debated Hovland’s options.

And like most of us, Hovland asked his caddie for some crucial information: “How much to cover the crap?” And the former Oklahoma State golfer couldn’t help but laugh at the situation he was in … the below back-and-forth is so good.

Hovland did end up covering the “crap” with his second shot and did well to scramble for a par.

We’re likely to see pros in some interesting spots all week, but it’ll be tough to top this exchange with the young Norweigan and his caddie.
