I’ve spent much of my adult life trying to help the PGA Tour in any way I possibly can. So, I present to you the fairly simple solution to all this, a system that is fair, that should keep the sponsors happy and will make for – just as important – good TV.
Whether a bulked-up Bryson is a true force of disruption is a separate conversation; that focus is on the future and a movement, which will play out in weeks and months and years to come.
Time, of course, will be the ultimate judge on how well golf capitalises on the spectacular shot in the arm it has been gifted, but if it fails to act and adapt the second time around, there’s little doubt it will be its gravest mistake of all.
