On Thursday (Australian time), executive producer of Netflix’s “Full Swing” series Chad Mumm announced the release date and cast of characters for Season 2. There are a handful of new faces, quite a few returning characters, and one noticeable omission.
Love him or hate him, one of the most compelling episodes of Season 1 revolved around Brooks Koepka, who was mired in a slump during filming due to numerous injuries and poor form. Viewers got to see a side of Koepka he hadn’t really shown the public before, as he questioned if he could still hang with the likes of Scottie Scheffler and whether or not he’d ever regain the form that saw him win four major championships in a span of three years.

Koepka, who won the PGA Championship last May at Oak Hill, will not return for Season 2, however. Fellow LIV golfers Ian Poulter and Mito Pereira, who were each featured in their own episodes in Season 1, will also not return.
Season 1 stars Rory McIlroy, Joel Dahmen, Justin Thomas and Matt Fitzpatrick will all be back. As will Dustin Johnson, the lone LIV name announced by Mumm yesterday at the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am. Fitzpatrick’s brother Alex, as well as Rickie Fowler, US Open winner Wyndham Clark, rising star Tom Kim, Keegan Bradley and former US Open champion and Olympic gold medallist Justin Rose will also be featured.
The most exciting news to come from the announcement is that Season 2 will feature a “heavy dose” of the Ryder Cup in Italy, according to Mumm. US captain Zach Johnson and European captain Luke Donald were also mentioned on Mumm’s cast list.
“It’s the first time that the Ryder Cup has allowed the level of access that we got this year to both captains kind of throughout the entire year,” Mumm said. “You’re going to see a look inside the Ryder Cup that no one has ever seen before. So sort of unprecedented levels of access, but also unprecedented levels of access to the entire team building process, including cameras rolling live with both the captains and the players as they receive their captains’ picks. So we can’t wait for you to see that.”
One clue dropped back last September when Bradley revealed that Netflix called him to tell him a camera crew was en route to his house, which made Bradley think that he was going to be named a captain’s pick by Johnson. As it turns out, they were there for the opposite reason, as Bradley did not make the team. As painful as that must have been for Bradley, it could make for great TV.
Mumm says the first part of Season 2 will start with the beginning of the 2023 season and culminate with “an eventful early June”, which featured the PGA Tour and LIV’s merger announcement and Clark’s US Open victory. The second half of the season will heavily revolve around the Ryder Cup, including a two-part season finale.
The entire second season of “Full Swing” will be released on March 6.
