The 2026 Masters may have reignited a longtime golf rivalry. Just not on the course.
Following the conclusion of the tournament, NBC’s Kevin Kisner had some not-so-flattering things to say about rival network CBS’ Masters coverage. The four-time PGA Tour winner was working for SiriusXM at Augusta National and he didn’t hold back regarding how CBS handled the telecast.

“They were literally showing s— that I knew happened 10 minutes ago all day long,” Kisner said on Barstool’s Fore Play podcast on Monday.
CBS took some criticism for the camerawork on the final hole as Rory McIlroy scrambled to make bogey to win a second consecutive green jacket. And there are always going to be complaints of certain shots not being shown. But Kisner provided a particularly harsh critique—especially when it came to the timing of shots shown—and given his role working for another network that covers golf.
“What are we doing? You have no commercials. Play live shots,” Kisner said. “Our production team at NBC prides themselves at showing every shot that they possibly can live . . . And when we don’t, we have to say, ‘a moment ago,’ because we are trying to make the whole movie make sense.”
Kisner added that he texted CBS’ Colt Knost to voice his displeasure.
“Do y’all ever show a live shot?” Kisner said of the text he sent Knost. “I’m better off following the f—ing app than your feed. So your entire Masters coverage is a fantasy world, it’s bulls—. Whatever y’all watch happened seven minutes ago.”

Kisner says Knost responded by saying they show all the shots in order, an explanation that didn’t satisfy the former Presidents Cupper.
“I have no idea what they are doing. They are showing every shot on tape. It’s incredible.” Kisner added. “I don’t even know how the announcers call it… It was unbelievable. I am not trying to kill them, but being on TV for 30 times and seeing what our production team does, I was just blown away.”

This was CBS’ 71st consecutive year handling Masters TV coverage. The network famously has a one-year deal with Augusta National that gets renewed each year.
CBS’ Jim Nantz addressed some of the criticism the network received on the Pat McAfee Show on Tuesday, but was not asked specifically about Kisner’s comments.

CBS will cover the next men’s major, the PGA Championship, next month. Kisner and his NBC crew will be on the call for the U.S. Open and Open Championship later this year.
