Captain Cam Smith might be doing a lot of the heavy lifting on the course for Ripper GC but good mate Jed Morgan can claim bragging rights off it.

Footage of the jovial all-Aussie lineup at LIV Golf’s Tulsa event has gone viral after Morgan pulled off one of the more impressive trick-shots you’ll see.

Killing time in the team lockers during a rain delay, Morgan was challenged to chip a ball into an empty three-ball sleeve/box being held by teammate Marc Leishman.

Adding pressure to the task was the apparent $500 on the line if he could pull off such sorcery.

“It’s gonna get niggly here shortly,” Smith says as Morgan stepped up for a crack at shot-of-the-year honours.

Here’s what happened:

Here’s another view, directly from Smith’s phone:

Fair play to Morgan – that’s pretty impressive. And while he may have banked 500 bucks for his efforts, the look on Leishman’s face is, well, priceless!

The 2021 Australian PGA champion, who became a full-time member of Ripper GC this year, will be hoping his short-game heroics can translate to podium finishes for him and his team for the remainder of the season.

After six events, the Aussies sit in eighth spot in the team standings, while Morgan is languishing in 42nd (out of 50) on the individual ladder. Smith sits in third spot after coming up just short in a playoff against American star Dustin Johnson at the weekend.

Ripper GC will return to action on May 26 as LIV Golf heads to Trump National Golf Club in Washington DC.
