Andrew Evans: The New South Wales journeyman broke through for a maiden title after a decade of trying at the Isuzu Queensland Open, showing tremendous composure in the final round at Pelican Waters to win by two strokes.

Cameron Smith: Last year’s Masters runner-up received a new accolade when he was named the 2020 Greg Norman Medal winner by the PGA of Australia, edging out Adam Scott and Minjee Lee.

Michael Fitchett: A legend of Victorian Golf, Fitchett passed away in April at the age of 93. A life member of the Victorian Golf Association, Fitchett was a seven-time club champion at Metropolitan Golf Club, the trophy bearing his name in his honour.

Grace Kim  and Kirsten Rudgeley: The gun amateurs were rewarded for their outstanding performances during the summer by being named the Karrie Webb Scholarship winners for 2021. This is the fourth year Kim has been a recipient.

Shani Waugh: The three-time Ladies European Tour winner was elevated into the West Australian Golf Industry Hall of Champions at the ADH Club Car WA Golf Industry Awards Night.

Parkwood Village: The multi-purpose facility on the Gold Coast is again breaking new ground, announcing plans to build the city’s first surf park, the ‘Endless Surf Wave Lagoon’, along with a multi-million dollar refurbishment of the golf course.

Rod Gurney: The “much-loved member” of Portarlington Golf Club on Victoria’s Bellarine Peninsula tragically passed away at the age of 69 days after being struck in the head by a golf ball during the Tuesday competition on March 30.

Nudgee Golf Club: The golf facility in Brisbane’s northern suburbs has announced an extension to its course redevelopment plan, expanding from the original 28-hole plans to now include all 36 holes and an expected completion date of early 2022.

Greg Norman: The Great White Shark looks to be headed back Down Under after the sale of his $52 million Colorado ranch. The sale comes just a month after he sold his Florida compound for $77 million and a January column for Stellar magazine in which he said, “I want to get back to Australia as soon as I can.”

Wallacia Country Club: The western Sydney club is in danger of losing half of its 18-hole golf course with a proposal to turn nine holes into a cemetery of 27,000 burial plots to help ease Sydney’s dwindling available space for gravesites.

Bryden Macpherson (pictured) won two PGA Tour of Australasia titles to rise to a career high of 281st in the world ranking, but a deeper dive into the numbers reveals a truly extraordinary summer of golf. Starting with the Gippsland Super 6 in late January, Macpherson played 27 tournament rounds and was not over par in any of them, playing seven events in 94-under par and closing it out with a three-stroke win at the Golf Challenge NSW Open.
