AUGUSTA, Ga. — We’re nearly midway through the 89th Masters, but it’s where the journey will end for some of the field.

Dustin Johnson, Sergio Garcia, Brooks Koepka, Adam Scott and Billy Horschel all will be heading home, failing to qualify for the weekend. Nick Dunlap, who shot 90 in the first round, rebounded with 71 in Round 2. Yes, a 19-shot improvement. But he will not be around for the next two rounds either.

Meanwhile, at the top of the leaderboard is Justin Rose, the first-round leader who followed a 65 with a 71 to sit at eight under par. He’s one ahead of Bryson DeChambeau and two ahead of Rory McIlroy and Corey Conners. World No. 1 Scottie Scheffler is in the hunt for a second consecutive green jacket as he’s finishing his second round late Friday.

Shane Lowry, Jason Day, Viktor Hovland and Collin Morikawa are all within four shots too.

Check back here shortly after the second round is complete for updated third-round pairings.
