The Par-3 Contest is an unusual opportunity to get a glimpse into a professional golfer’s softer side. For one afternoon, the game’s biggest stars change from unfathomable players to something more relatable—a dad, husband or boyfriend interacting with their significant other, family members and kids.
While patrons enjoy watching some of the greatest players dial in their short game, it’s the children, with their white caddie jumpsuits, that usually steal the show. From sprinting across fairways to missing putts by a mile, the kids in the par 3 tend to bring an element no leader board can capture. It’s moments like these that remind us why we love the game so much.
And even during these lighter moments, we still see what makes these players so great. Take Scottie Scheffler, who, on the first tee, drops a shot just a few feet from the pin. Without missing a beat, he slips the club back into his bag and scoops Bennett up into his arms.
I’m still waiting for some post-round interviews with the kids (because you know they’d tell it like it is) but until then here are some of our favorite moments from this year’s Par 3.

Bennett mid-round and ready for a nap. Being this cute is exhausting!

It takes a village… literally. Team AN showing us how it’s done.

Leo Straka enjoying a mid-round snack. No shoes? No problem when you’re this cute.

“Race ya to the green!”

Poppy bringing all the girl energy we didn’t know we needed.

That moment you realize… that wasn’t your ball. And everyone saw it.

This group stole the show on Wednesday.

Until next year…
