It’s the four-second audio clip of a computer-generated voice saying a word that has divided the internet. And now it has divided the field at this week’s AT&T Byron Nelson tournament.

The sound, sparking a similar debate to that infamous coloured dress of 2015, has pricked peoples ears in different ways. Some hear “Laurel” while others are adamant the voice heard is pronouncing “Yanny”.

So the media team at the US PGA Tour decided to take the clip to its players this week, hitting the range at Trinity Forest Golf Club in Texas to see what the field hears:

Entertaining stuff. For the record, this scribe hears “Yanny”. How bout you?
